Edith Harmon's lifelong commitment to the study of pastels began as a young girl in the village of Beaugency, France, where she spent her afternoons learning the intricacies of the art medium under the auspices of local artist Madame Sigella. She continued her studies working under mentors Bob Gerbract and Rizos Nicolaos, a Greek portrait artist and Master Pastel Painter.

Edith now works and teaches the art of pastels in her Jackson, Tennessee, studio. Her landscapes, figures, portraits and abstracts are painted on hand-primed gator board, often with iridescent colors.
